Buddy goes back to the park a few days later and runs into the same girl again but this time, he follows her home. He runs into an old version of Ethan and at first, Ethan had taken "Bear" to the shelter but quickly changes his mind and brings him home. He finds the scent of Jasper, Ethan's donkey, in a driveway and races down the driveway to find the Farm. He meets this girl who has Hannah's scent all over her and after hanging around her for a few days, he suddenly gets chased off by people wanting to take him to the shelter. Deciding to follow a river, he followed it until he found humans and lived in the park for a few days. He was in the same area where the Farm was. "Bear" began to walk for miles and miles and when he was about to give up, he realized where he was.
